Book review - Clamped by David Blackwell

"If you’ve ever sniffed your snowboard boots and thought they smelled good, frozen your hands off by wearing your pipe gloves in January, secretly thought your goggle marks look cool or caught an edge and got a face full of snow then this could be the book for you."

I have just finished reading clamped and it has done exactly what a good adventure book does and has whisked me away to another land, a land filled with snow, women and gangsters. There is not another book of this nature on the shelves today. This en-captures all the excitement of riding through fresh powder snow on a bluebird day along with hints of comedy and a deeper darker story line buried beneath. I twists and turns with chapters written from every perspective. likable and unlikable character until it eventually all comes together for a thrilling finish. set in the mountains of Courchevel, France, it follows the path of a suburban chalet boy learning to snowboard who becomes embroiled in the world of a corrupt museum curator, two small-time scam artist public schoolboys and an ancient artefact with hallucinogenic powers. What more could you ask for. David Blackwell wrote this book cooped up in a chalet in whistler and personally i think its incredible.

"But i would say its amazing, I'm a snowboarder"
