INSPIRATION/ BOOK REVIEW

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. It's not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary . . . " - Alastair Humphreys, Ten lessons from the road.

I my personal opinion if you ever intend to go on a journey, any journey big or small, you should take this tiny pocket book with you. Ten Lessons From The Road is the most inspiration book i have read for a long time. With bold statements and quotes that would help drive any traveller forward. Alastair Humphreys first wrote the book Thunder and Sunshine after traveling round the world on his bike, Now as an inspirational speaker he travels round the world pushing people to get outside and follow their dreams. Ten Lessons is a perfect place to start if you are looking for drive, ideas, inspiration and adventure. stunning photos back up his ten lessons and all thats left to be said is that after reading it i am struggling to stay indoors and write this blog, "There's are huge world out there and it needs exploring"

Below are two quotes that make give you some idea of what's in store:

"You are capable of so much more than you imagine. You have within your grasp virtually whatever target you set your sights on. To get there may not be easy. It may take your whole life, but if you are successfully determined, patient, bold, and imaginative, you can reach it. If you think only in small incremental steps, you need not grow disheartened. Act only on the next tiny step ahead of you. and even if that appears too large, then figure out how to break it down smaller still. Walk on through the rain, though you dreams be tossed and blown. Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart and you will arrive someday." ALASTAIR HUMPHREYS

"If you're not hurting, you're not riding hard enough.

If you're not hungry, you've eaten too much.

If you're not cold, you're carrying too many clothes.

If you know you will succeed, it's too easy."
